We help people maintain their independence for longer

When our co-founder Louise Rogerson was working as a commissioner for Manchester health services, she realised that people who needed the most help were often struggling at home, and not appearing in the health service data until they ended up in A&E.

Louise and Jonathan Burr made it their mission to develop a non-intrusive monitoring system to help at-risk people retain their independence while flagging problems before they become a crisis.

Longer, healthier lives at home

Howz supports our users to remain safe and well at home for as long as possible. Whether someone with frailty or dementia, our behavioural monitoring builds an accurate picture so that they can be supported to remain independent.

Families are kept up to speed with our app, that allows them to see how their loved one is getting on. This reduces their anxiety and allows them to support from afar, taking the pressure of health and social care teams.

Actionable insights

While traditional telecare services can be lifesaving, when a person has a fall at home, for example, these emergencies take a huge toll on the individual, their family and health care resources.

If it had been spotted early on the individual wasn't going out as much as they used to, health care services could help them with balancing exercises as a measure to prevent a fall.

With this mindset, Howz is committed to leading the transformation toward proactive digital telecare.
