Jonathan Burr, Founder and CEO.  Jonathan is an innovator in the technical and business development of streaming, real-time, big datasets to solving everyday problems relating to Smart Home and AAL/Health.  Between 2000 and 2011 Jonathan was previously COO of AIM Listed ITIS Holdings plc where he designed and built the world’s first commercial floating car data system used by 16 car manufacturers in the UK and other customers in Europe, China, Russia and the USA.  Jonathan has granted patents in traffic and navigation and was President of the global standards setting Traveler Information Services Association 2009-2011. Jonathan was previously at GE and Avis Rent a Car, is a chartered accountant and has a BA in PPE from Merton College Oxford.     

 Louise Rogerson, Founder and COO.  Louise is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 20 years clinical experience with neurological conditions and currently works as the Chief Operating Officer for Howz.  Louise works on the implementation of projects gaining first hand experience of Howz in the real world through direct customer contact, development of business models, and evaluation of product.  Louise has proven experience as a project manager within the NHS and private sector. Within the NHS Louise led on the delivery of NHS Health Checks across a population of 230,000 including implementation of online data capture across 32 GP practices.  At Howz Louise leads on the delivery of projects for the NHS and commercial organisations including integration of systems. Louise has published research in the use of walking aids after stroke and Howz for stroke survivors.

Dr Jamie-Leigh Chapman, Senior Data Scientist.  Jamie-Leigh has a PhD in Statistics and Operational Research from Lancaster University. Whilst completing her PhD she worked in collaboration with the Data Science Campus at the Office for National Statistics, and also with the Big Insight Center at Oslo University. Jamie-Leigh's research to date is focused upon time series and changepoints. In particular, the the use of changepoints to improve forecasts and the development of methodology which is robust to the time series peculiarities we often see in real world data. Jamie-Leigh has spent some time working with the Data Science Team at Tesco Plc, where she implemented some of her research into their forecasting procedures. She has also developed methodology for Eurostat to aid in the backasting of Economic European Indicators. Jamie-Leigh has now been working with us at Howz for nearly one year.

Dr Jack Heal, Senior Developer.  Jack completed his PhD in mathematical biology and biophysical chemistry at the University of Warwick in 2014, where he then became an Early Career Research Fellow in the Institute of Advanced Study. His work during this time focused on protein-drug interactions. He then worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bristol as part of Professor Dek Woolfson’s research group. Here, his research focused on protein design, and building computational tools to optimise the design process.  Following this, Jack worked in the Scientific Computing core facility at Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute, before joining Howz in October 2018. He is an author on ten articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and principal author on five of these.
